- 9 Oct 2026 — Top 10 teams announced, Demo Day details shared
- 12 Oct 2026 — Virtual build kickoff (evening); mentors assigned
- 12–26 Oct 2026 — Two-week build sprint
- 27 Oct 2026, 4:00–7:00 PM — Demo Day; top 3 teams selected
- 4 Nov 2026 — Databricks Singapore new office launch; winning team presents to Databricks APJ leadership; top 10 teams attend

Eligibility
- Open to students currently enrolled at a Singapore Institute of Higher Learning (IHL) — universities, polytechnics and ITE — at the time of registration
- Both undergraduate and postgraduate students are welcome
- Teams of 1 to 4 students; a student may be a member of only one team
- Teams may be formed across different institutions
- Proof of student status (student ID or matriculation card) may be requested before prizes are awarded
- Databricks employees, contractors, judges, mentors and their immediate family members are not eligible to compete
- Participation is free. Databricks Free Edition is provided at no cost; no credit card or purchase is required
- Void where prohibited by law
Project and Submission Requirements
- Projects must be newly created for this challenge. Pre-existing projects, prior coursework and previous hackathon entries are not eligible. Open-source libraries, public datasets and publicly available pre-trained models may be used
- Projects must be built on Databricks (Free Edition or another Databricks workspace) and must use at least one Singapore public/open dataset
- Teams must have the rights to all content submitted. Do not submit confidential, personal or proprietary data. Only use data that is publicly licensed or that you are authorised to use
- No personal data: do not upload personally identifiable information about individuals into your workspace or submission
- AI assistance (including Databricks Assistant and Genie) is permitted and encouraged; the work must remain the team's own
- Submissions must be made through Devpost by the stated deadlines. Judges may request a live walkthrough or access to the notebook to verify the work
- Intellectual property: teams retain ownership of their code and IP. By submitting, teams grant Databricks a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to showcase, screenshot and describe the submission for promotional, educational and event purposes
- Judging: judges' decisions are final. Databricks may withhold or reallocate a prize if no submission in a category meets the required standard
- Code of conduct: all participants must behave respectfully and professionally at all virtual and in-person events. Harassment, discrimination, plagiarism, cheating or misrepresentation of work results in immediate disqualification. Report concerns to daisichallenge@databricks.com
- Prizes are awarded as Databricks credits, certification vouchers and training vouchers as described in the Prizes section, are non-transferable and cannot be exchanged for cash
